I am a private piano teacher pay taxes on my in home business I would only hope that the stimulus package could develop a lower unemployment with at least 30% of income or 0% loan to stay afloat during this national disaster through no fault of my own.

Some of us thrive better as independent contractors. Cumulatively, are contribution is huge and we are at least as affected as employees, who auto qualify for U.I. Most small businesses started as one or two person operations. We must be cared for with the same level of appreciation that "employees" get.

I have been out of work for 3 months with no relief in sight. I am in dire need of basic survival income as well as medical and pharmacy costs, and have only a minimal Social Security income that does not cover all basic needs. Please implement some sort of compensation for 'gig' workers, who are not entitled to standard unemployment benefits as we are classified as 'independent contractors', not employees, and paid only for work performed, but there is little if any 'work' provided, due to covid-19 restrictions, even though we are considered 'essential service'.,

I’m a self-employed independent Cleaning Professional w/ 18yrs+ experience working for awesomely loyal households & clients throughout the Chicagoland area. I’m also a Mom raising 2 boys with special needs, disabilities and serious chronic illnesses; the majority of the income earned from cleaning houses funds the often uncovered, specialized occupational, academic & comprehensive medical care services they constantly need & receive. I’m proud of all the hard work, blood sweat and tears that I’ve put in to earn the success and loyal clientele base that I have thus far. But, my workload & business has diminished to about 20%, whereas before the COVID-19 pandemic my schedule was 100% full to the point where several times a week I was cleaning 2 large homes BY MYSELF per day and working 6 days a week. Now, those clients have postponed their routine visits until it’s all clear, leaving me with minimal work to keep me busy for 2 days a week, not nearly enough to cover ONE uncovered medication for ONE child.

I am self employed working with two elderly clients. I just opened my business in January and I do not qualify for unemployment. My clients do not want anybody to come over, included me. I do not blame them, I would do that to. Now I do not have an income. What am I going to do.

Please don’t leave the self employed behind. We need help as much as employees who have been laid off.

Independent contractors have families too, they have rent to pay medical bills and other responsibilities.
