I am a small business owner and am the only employee. I create art and collectibles. My business is gone, I pay taxes and now have no safety net because I don’t pay unemployment insurance.

I'm am a Real Estate Agent in Rochester NY, my business is my primary source of income. We need help, paying our Bills! What is common in NY city Real Estate isn't common here. Why couldn't I open the door for my Clients and let them see the property? I don't think any client around here would be comfortable seeing a video of a home and then put in a purchase offer. With the advances in technology I normally work remotely. Drawing up purchase offers and preparing listing presentations can be done online. My business is essential to keeping the economy stable. We all have to adjust I get it, but shutting down our small businesses isn't the solution. We need to come up with strategies that will work for everyone. Please help us!

One-person graphic design firm, in business since 2003 and performing services for other small-to-medium sized businesses through the southeast. No new orders for design, printing, signs or photography for more than two weeks now. Business has come to a screeching halt. Please help us small business owners, as well. As others have mentioned, we pay taxes + some, just as other Americans and deserve the same assistance.

I am part of a large contingent of commercial retail real estate agents. The vast majority are independent contractors. We help retailers, restaurants, hotels and fitness users expand into new locations. We are paid on commission only. Us along with our clients have been hit disproportionally. A complete shutdown. Any transactions in the pipeline (our lifeblood) have been killed, and there are literally no deals on the horizon. It takes approx 1 year to create a ”pipeline” and get paid (in good times). We need significant assistance immediately as well as ongoing assistance in order to survive.

No to bailing corporations, YES to helping low wage, self employed and gig workers.

We the contractors contribute to the economy and pay taxes as the rest of the nation. And we also VOTE. We deserve more RELIEF

First Thank You for creating this petition. Not only am I self-employed but I have created space for 40 others who are self-employed to practice and share their gifts of the "healing arts" (massage, reiki, energy work, sound therapy, yoga etc) I am feeling the pressure of responsibility to help them, but there is nowhere to turn. The President must declare your state a major disaster in order for you to even become eligible for "Disaster Unemployment Assistance" Let's use this as an opportunity to unite and change the laws! Also contact your state senators, let them know how critical it is to help the independent contractor. This is what America was built on, the True Foundation of America!

Contractors contribute to the economy and pay taxes as the rest of the nation does. They deserve more “relief”
