Better ASD Services and Referral/diagnosis service for our children on the Isle of Wight

My daughter is about to turn 10 and we have been waiting for 19 months for her to be assessed.

Waiting on diagnosis for my 5 year old son! Without diagnosis we are struggling to get him the support he so very much needs in school

I have a child with various needs and i agree that the services on the Island are letting us down massively. The Government need to realise the detrimental affect cutting funding will have on our children. Their welfare and mental health are at stake.

My son was diagnosed two years ago this year through adrc. Now professionals are looking at my daughter, schools are failing out asd children as they do not know how to handle them hence why my son is home educated now. why just because we live on the isle of wight should we not have the same access to services everyone else does.

the lack of support is shocking. how can we help our children without the correct support for bith them and us as parents. well done care, lets hope this petition gets the support it deserves

Isle of Wight children are being failed without the correct services in place to provide specialist SEN diagnoses.

My nephews need proper support and there are now many families on the Isle of Wight left to flounder whilst the needs of some very special children are not being met - with little hope of that situation changing due to the loss of the ADRC.. Please give these children and parents a voice and some hope to get them the support they need and deserve

I'm signing because this also affects my little boy, the ardc promised to come back to see him last year after he was diagnosed with adhd so they could diagnosis him properly and it never happened due to them cutting funding and are no longer doing island visits for this service.

Something needs doing sooner rather than later too many families being failed

I have 3 boys 2 of which were on the waiting list for the adrc, our other son already having been through the process and diagnosed. The adrc was a terrible resource and completely mismanaged but even that is better than what we are left with-nothing and no bright horizon to look forward to. So tired of the Isle of Wight being the poor cousin to the UKs services.

I too currently have a 9 year old lost in the system, still waiting! He has an ASD brother, not diagnosed until high school began, which is far to late. Am I to have another child that has been failed? These children need early diagnosis and intervention in order to learn to live with their difficulties, which is impossible in a system such as we used to have. I say 'used to have' because right now I have had no personal correspondence in regards to how the children on current waiting lists are going to be seen.

Ben through the service and it took over a year. Will need them again soon as I’m sure he was misdiagnosed!!

We have been waiting nearly 2 years to get a diagnosis for my boy and he needs it so he can access a sensory ot to get further help , the adrc has closed its doors with nothing in place, he deserves to be seen!!

It is shocking that in this day and age our child are being left to suffer because there isn't enough support to help them. We aren't a 3rd world country, and we pay into the national health service but where is this getting us? I have 4 children, 2 are struggling in life and school, and this will continue to deteriorate without the right and appropriate help that they not only need but jolly well deserve!
