It's one thing to break an election promise (par for the course), but to back track on the ONE major issue that was promised to be brought to the public is unacceptable, and sets a dangerous precedent.

I do not support casino gambling in Bermuda. Allowing gambling will have a serious social impact on our tiny island. Please give ALL the people of Bermuda a say in this decision.

Yes, when a party says they are going to do something, they should do it. But let's not be too idealistic. There are forces outside of the governments control that may not allow them to do what they promised. With this in mind, I think it is important to say that the government should do what it said it would do or it should provide a thorough and valid explanation for why the promise can no longer be kept. Personally, I feel the government have not done a very convincing job of explaining themselves and this is why I am signing the petition.
