and Whereas numerous Bermudians are criminalized for non-violent possession for personal use of cannabis;
and Whereas many countries are revising their cannabis laws;
Whereas we are treaty-bound to only allow cannabis for purposes of research and/or medicinal use;
We the undersigned petition the Honourable House of Assembly to immediately decriminalise cannabis, possession and supply (in a Treaty compliant fashion), and examine the economic and social benefits of cannabis regulation, taxation and sale, as well as sale of anonymised research data, for the benefit of our local economy, social climate and tourism product.

I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MY ENTIRE WEEK MEETING WITH LOCAL EXPERTS TO MAP OUT THE BEST PATH FORWARD FOR OUR ISLAND!! THE ENERGY AROUND THIS ISSUE IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC AND PEOPLE ARE FINALLY READY TO TALK ABOUT REAL CHANGE!!

THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC!! WE ARE CHANGING THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION AROUND CANNABIS IN BERMUDA RIGHT NOW!!

TAX IT AND REGULATE IT. Everyone knows its happening anyway so we might as well make some money for the island instead of locking up our own youth.
Its time to stop treating people like criminals for a plant. Look at how much tax money we are losing to the black market. Lets get this done.

Seriously long overdue. My cousin got arrested for barely anything and it ruined his job prospects. Fix the laws already.
