Why are inhumane conditions and acts happening to animals in this country. I thought we had animal cruelty laws, or does that not apply to the farming industry. Disgusting conditions!

Overcrowding also looks like an issue at Bendigo as well as the fact there is no shade for the sheep. These conditions will mean we will look at Kyneton next time!

The Bendigo Livestock Exchange claims on its website that it is a fully accredited sheep and cattle selling complex under the National Saleyard Quality Assurance Program. However, it does not comply with Agriculture Victoria Sheep Shelter guidelines. The Bendigo Council needs to proceed with a complete compliance assessment report of the Livestock Exchange, focusing on animal welfare concerns: that adequate shelter for all extreme weather conditions are provided for the animals; that environmental impacts caused by the facility are assessed and rectified, that WHS concerns are in order.
Contrary to the Sheep Shelter guidelines `it is PREFERABLE that shelters include sufficient room for all animals to be able to lie down', this should be changed to `mandatory that shelters include sufficient room for all animals to be able to lie down.'
Legal maltreatment of animals in Victoria, in Australia, in the twenty-first century, no longer meet community expectations and wishes.
This is truly alarming and it imperative that Bendigo Council takes action to make this facility meet the (minimal) animal welfare guidelines outlined by Agriculture Victoria.

Despicable these poor animals need shelter and you must look after them! How would you feel being exposed to all the elements and extreme weather conditions!

How can "humans" be so very cruel and heartless. I despair every day at the suffering of helpless animals.
