As a wool producer as well as someone concerned for better welfare within the industry I congratulate Melbourne sheep save for doing all they can to improve the welfare for sheep at Ballarat. I've attended the yards and I know that at Ballarat and other yards some changes have only been implemented because of concerned activist groups voicing their opinions to improve welfare. It is long overdue for shelter at this yard and other yards.

In this harsh climate, it’s a no brainer that animals should have shade, water, food and shelter available at all times. These are the minimal requirements of any welfare creed and the most basic form of empathy

Farmed animals have no rights and are treated abysmally. I disagree with every aspect of animal agriculture and have recused myself from any participation with animal industries.
There is no excuse for failing animals in the ways that animal agriculture currently fails them. The provision of shade and shelter is so basic. So why is it not provided?
