Ben Avery used to be my old home range, until i moved because of a work relocation. The other two major clubs in south phx and in Mesa (Rio Saldado) have been shooting this format of shooting for several decades.

I've been shooting competitively for years and am a certified Range Officer. A wide field of fire is as safe as a narrow field when done properly.

IT's really hard to believe that this is the only range in Arizona that restrictes this type of shooting.

As a Police firearms instructor, RangeMaster and sponsored competition shooter I've never witnessed a safety issue or injury while observing or participating in a practical shooting match with a wide field of fire, including but not limited too: 3-Gun, USPSA, IPSC, etc.

I have competed in, was a safety officer for, or a range officer in over 50 matches with a wide field of fire of 180 degrees and more...and have never ever seen any injuries in the 6 years I have been involved in competative shooting.

Shooting a wide field of fire is safe and required to host a competitive action shooting match. As a 3gun shooter, a USPSA shooter, an NRA Range Officer and a NROI Range Officer I can attest to the safety of this course of fire.

My range officer certifications are current for 4 different shooting sports. I have participated in shooting sports actively since 1986. Never in all of that time have I personally witnessed a safety challenge that had anything to do with wide field events.
