Don't penalize the students who are paying room and board to Belmont. Parking should be considered part of that expense!!!

I think the new parking garage in the DAC has enough parking for people to be able to park closer to their residence halls, especially when it's cold outside. For example, people living in Potter shouldn't have to walk all the way from TK with grocery bags in the cold when there is a closer option for them.

One member of Belmont police told me that it was okay to park in the same place where I was ticketed for parking a week later. Multiple problems with the current system.

I think it would be nice to rework the layout for the Johnson garage parking permissions. W passes (most of the freshmen dorms) are only allowed to park on P5 and P6 to my understanding (even though a lot of people use P4), while commuters and visitors get 1-3. The issue is that this leaves P3 almost entirely empty, since many commuters park under the WAC or other places, and visitors have even more options. I think that Ws should be allowed to park on 3 as well, which would ease congestion in the garage by opening more spaces to residents while not impeding on the commuters/visitors. It also saves a little time (although minute) by not forcing everyone with a W pass to drive/elevator all the way down or up to the bottom

This petition should honestly go through. I have been wrongfully ticketed twice even though the parking map had stated that I was allowed to park in said location. During one of those times, I was told that Belmont had recently changed the rules on that specific parking. If Belmont is going to change parking rules on the campus and not inform students, we should not be ticketed.

In particular, there is a severe lack of parking for school of music students. We have some of the only facilities on campus that do not have an attached garage, yet make up a large portion of the student population. Students have to carry sometimes several heavy instruments to and from their cars, and often spend late nights at the buildings. The feeling of safety and accessibility is basically non-existent for many SOM students. Especially those that commute have a really hard time with parking.

I am so tired of having my car all the way in TK when my dorm (Potter) is in the middle of campus. It is both dangerous and time-consuming to carry my music gear or luggage when we could simply park in the Johnson Center or Curb Garage.

The visitor parking lots are ridiculous. They should be visitor lots at certain times of the day not all day. The lots by LVCA should be dedicated to art students. Right on for challenging Belmont! It is time they listen to their students who are paying for all of this!

The parking situation is one of the few things I hate about Belmont. They give out tickets like Bed, Bath, & Beyond gives out coupons just to make extra money as if my $40,000 a year doesn't buy enough fountains for the school. They need to re-think parking designation completely. Still love it here tho <3

The support and feedback that this petition has been getting is incredible! Keep the sharing and getting your friends involved so the word can continue growing to the point at which Belmont would have to listen. At this rate Belmont will change their rules as soon as spring break!

It would be helpful for art and music students if more parking were made available near LCVA and Wilson. With projects and instruments to be carried in and out, it would be nice to have even 15 minute parking on the side of Wilson or in front of LCVA, especially during shows (art or music).
Also, it would be helpful to have the ability to park in the lots around LCVA at 5 instead of 5:30 since a lot of students have classes from 5-7:45. I would feel a lot safer driving back to my room instead of walking to and from in the dark.
