Belleville east and west both are way to strict on females and not on males and it pisses me off.

why not work towards removing the dress code entirely. I mean complaining about it being biased kinda justifies removing it entirely or no? Btw I am currently a student at Belleville east

This problem with male biased dress codes is not just a problem in one area, it is widespread and has gone on for far too long. By singling young women out and holding them to a more "modest" code than their male counterparts sends a dangerous message: that women are the problem. It is creating the message that what a woman wears is responsible for changing a male's actions and "tempting him" or "distracting him." This reduces young men and boys to animals with no control and victimizes them while pointing the blame on the young women and girls. This is extremely problematic. Also, college won't contain these strict rules, and neither will the real world. These students will see a little bit of leg out there, that's just the way it is. If they can't handle this, there are larger problems that need to be addressed. By signing this petition, I hope I can be another little piece of the puzzle in righting the wrongs that happen every day to students.

I am so happy you have made this! Also we need to make one for girls being allowed to wear noncollared shirts that are dress code colors.

I hope they change your dress code. That's ridiculous that they let young men wear anything and females have a list when I was in school the fingertip rule was in effect maybe they can switch it to that rule instead.

I went through this there. Guys sagging their pants, wearing shorts above the knee, NEVER GETTING DRESSCODED, while teachers specifically looked at girls to make sure they were in compliance. It's wrong. Granted, some girls do their best to go against it and wear leggings and such, but seriously, knees and shoulders aren't sexy. Stop.
