The school dress code is unneeded, and too strict for the student's best interest.

im 5'8 and I agree it's very hard finding thing bellow your knees the things taller girls wear would fit perfect on a shorter person. I also think it's unfair that teachers wear things not below there knees. The whole dress code deal is okay but the bellow the knee is out rages, I have been dress coded 12 times since school started for things right above the knee.

The dress code was ridiculous enough when I graduated 4 years ago. The fact that they've made it stricter is horrible. I'm all for getting rid of the dress code entirely. It's unnecessary in my opinion.

Thank you! I'm 5'8 and it's impossible to find shorts that go to my knee, which is rough on hot days

Dress codes should not be based around a males need. It's disgusting to think they're quick to judge a female but a male just because of his sex, is allowed to dress however he pleases.

Once, I literally saw a pack of boys wearing shorts that, if a girl was wearing, would be an immiadiate dress code violation, no questions asked.

I went to the Catholic school and the rule was 3 inches above the knee, and that was about it for uniforms. Dress codes that are directed at women are sexist and teach young, impressionable, women that covering their bodies is more important than their education! This is disgusting, especially for an educational institution.

I was a student and hated the dress code, I would wear shorts, I have big thighs that would be less than an inch above my knee. Yet a guy can wear his shorts shorter than me. And let's be honest I even had to shop in the male section of the store to find shorts that long.

Skirts are way more revealing compared to shorts that's why they have the rule. This is honestly stupid and a waste of time.

Did anyone read the dress code? Shorts are not allowed, but Capris are. You are fighting the wrong battle. Belleville High Schools are not about to change the dress code. It is way too much trouble and will open to many doors for more issues.
What you should be asking for is simply to have the instructors re-familiarize themselves with the policy and enforce that no one should have shorts above the nee.

So it's okay for a guy to show his skivvies, but the girl needs to cover her knees. Here I thought we'd left the 1800's behind, with women hiding their body. Next I guess we'll not be permitted to hold positions in Student Government. I love seeing how the school REALLY views their females...as second-class citizens.

This is a completely biased rule. Girls cannot wear a skirt right above the knee which is acceptable by today's standards but yet the boys are allowed to walk around with their pants half way down and their underwear exposed. I have witnessed this double standard and don't agree.

It isn't fair that most if not all dress code rules are aimed at girls. Girls should be free to wear things without guys being disrespectful of them.
