I too do not agree with the double standard. I think kids should be able to show a little individuality...and gangs? I don't recall seeing Belleville in the news for gang affiliated crimes or colors being shown...ever.... That's a lame excuse. Why don't you just say what you really mean...you don't want the few girls who will try to push the envelope and come to school looking hookers and you don't want to worry about male students/teachers being attracted to them. So the solution is to cover them up like its the 1940's??? How about, you still have a dress code, but one that doesn't make our girls live by the double standard society has always forced upon women. If anything, the teachers should also have to give up their right to individuality and wear those boring, bland clothes the dress code calls for.

As a parent, I have seen the male students wear their pants sagging EXTREMELY! When the schools dress code was changed due to gang affiliated dress code-WELL ISN'T THAT CONSIDERED GANG RELATED?

Should get this fixed because if what a student wears or looks like is becoming a schools priority then there is a major issue.. They should be focused on giving students an education not punishing them based on how they are dressing. I'm starting to think this whole dress 4 success is a business the school started to make $$.. They allow Belleville east spirit shirts and give you a small selection of others if you decide not to buy from their school. But as far as the whole knees situation goes they say it is distracting .. I'm sure it is a distraction and really time consuming for a girl to find the right size dress and what to wear.

I don't agree with many items in the dress code. And why must student adhere to one when the teachers do not?

You should get rid of sexist dress codes, because we're all equal and come on it's 2015 are you still gonna tell a girl to cover up her whole body, and then let boys wear whatever they want to.
