Very Hard to believe that BC ferries planned to cut the routing to Bella Coola! They should increase the amount of stops at Bella Coola, and make the season longer; it would increase local tourism to the benefit of the local people, but also for future development.

The ferry is a very important mean for round trips as tourist and should offer in summer more even connections to become more attractive

I was disappointed that the route 40 had stopped just before I visited Bella Coola this Sept. Was looking forward to using the service next visit . I think it would be very shortsighted to remove this service.

This is not only a very beautiful route for tourists to get to and from Bella Coola but it seems like a vital link for the Bella Coola community as well. I'm sure you can find another way to cut costs without cutting this route out entirely. Please reconsider!

Having travelled the route this summer we consider this to be a blow to the local economies of Port Hardy and the Bella Coola Valley. If the government does not want to run ferries any more they should put all the services up for tender. With your move we will severely damage the local First Nations population in the Bella Coola Valley, which depends on the link and the income it creates in tourism and otherwise.
