The Liberals tried to take our ferry service away in 2001, but we fought back and banded together as communities.Here they are again in 2013 trying to do it again. When will the Premier decide to re-visit this poorly thought out decision. Time to call the legislature into the previously cancelled fall session.

Bella Coola Valley is the gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest. We have a chance to finally do it right - restore 'health' to Coastal communities by way of an ecologically responsible tourism economy. BC's Liberal Government should want to support this recovery. Cancellation of BC Ferries Route 40 - Discovery Coast Passage is a grave mistake. Correct it.

One of the basic things the government should be involved in is transportation, especially in order for a community to sustain its economy. Though Bella Coola is full of resourceful and resilient people, it could use some help. Not only does this cancellation affect Bella Coola it affects all the communities around Port Hardy, and the ones along at least 600km they drive from Bella Coola to a main artery of the Tourism promoted Circle Route of the Discover Coast

It is essential that ferry service be maintained to Bella Coola. It is an integral part of our primary industry, which is tourism. In cancelling this essential service, BCFC has inordinately burdened Bella Coola over other routes that are equally or more underutilized and allowed the FC to continue to mismanage this service. Why can Washington State manage to run their ferry system profitably?

I am one who uses this ferry a lot to visit family and friends in Bella Bella. Taking it away is rubbish!

This ferry service is absolutely essential to the livelihood of the people left living in Bella Coola. Without it, many businesses will not be able to survive. Over the last fifteen years we've seen all of our major industries all but disappear. First the big logging companies left and laid everyone off, next was forestry, then the fisheries. Hundreds of people lost their jobs. Tourism is the last viable industry we have left, and the closure of this ferry may as well be the last straw.

This ferry is important not only to the coastal communities but to the communities along Hwy 20....they will lose millions of dollars, some will go bankrupt and a lot of people will end up on welfare.
