I've lived in Belle Meade for 70 years. This will create more traffic and waste 3.5 million dollars. A total waste of our money.

There exists sixty miles of walking trails at the Warner Park system, absolutely free of vehicular traffic. There is NO NEED for sidewalks on BM Blvd, period.

If this occurs in historic pw Belle Meade then what is the plan for historic pb North Nashville? Do the planners live in the area?

We don’t need to do anything that will attract more walkers on Belle Meade Blvd. There is a beautiful park at the end of the street!

I am extremely opposed to the “beautification and pedestrian” plan. As a runner on BM Blvd for over 25 years, I have felt and continue to feel completely safe there. I will run this afternoon and possibly pass two or three other people walking/running. Individuals who are not on their phones and who are aware of their surroundings are “safe” (both pedestrians and drivers). I live immediately off of the blvd and am concerned this project would create congestion on our main thoroughfare and attract people from allover the city (and tourists) who are looking for a place to walk. Our road is not a greenway; it is meant for transportation. The park is packed with people on the weekends who will spill out into our streets. Our neighborhood is special. We have little to no crime. We do not lock our doors. This is why we pay a premium to live here. Anyone who wants to live in an urban, walkable neighborhood should move to one of the many places in Nashville that offers that lifestyle.

I run and bike on the Boulevard frequently, in addition to living on it, and am strongly against this proposal and the way it was handled.

The plan will make it more dangerous for vehicular traffic (cars and large/wide trucks) plus the increased pedestrians it will attract.

I am highly opposed to changing the look
of Belle Meade Boulevard! We have spent
years planting trees, hydrangeas and improving the light poles! The Belle Meade Police Department do a great job patrolling
our small city and help insure our safety!
It seems like every year the City Counsel
comes up with an expensive hair brained scheme to change our beautiful Blvd.
Please leave well enough alone!

I’m very concerned about the safety of drivers with so many pedestrians & bikers on BM Blvd. It’s already too skinny width streets for drivers. I don’t think the proposed ideas will solve this.

I believe this plan is unsafe. Those of us who live off the Boulevard, especially on the Richland Creek side, must make left turns on or off the Boulevard several times daily. It is already hard to watch out for pedestrians. If they have a false sense of safety, especially if their numbers increase, they are at risk of being hit when drivers make left turns.
