This is why I left Nashville. Too many hillbillies, even in Belle Meade.

I oppose the proposed changes. Belle Meade Boulevard is beautiful, leave it as is.

I would recommend the city council halt all forward movement on constructing a pedestrian walkway along Belle Meade Boulevard until coming to an agreement with the homeowners (and residents of Belle Meade) on a future plan.

The proposed changes to the Boulevard would negatively affect it and change its character to an urban-like roadway that would lead to more traffic, more concrete/pavement, and turn it into something less aesthetic. As a result, I oppose the proposed changes. Save the Boulevard!

I'm a runner and I've run on the boulevard for over 20 years. The historic beauty of this location combined with the current rules on traffic flow, such as maintaining speed at 35 mph and only using the left hand lane for turning provides adequate safety margin for runners and pedestrians. As a runner and a cyclist, I recommend keeping the boulevard the way it is.

Let’s Keep Belle Meade Blvd Beautiful Belle Meade Boulevard is more than just a road—it’s a part of our community’s identity. Its wide, green median without sidewalks is what gives it its unique charm and timeless character. It’s a natural, peaceful corridor that reflects the spirit of Belle Meade, and once that character is altered, there’s no going back. There are wonderful parks nearby, like Percy Warner, that are perfect for walking, running, and enjoying the outdoors. Let’s preserve the Boulevard as it is—a scenic, green space that enhances our neighborhood's beauty and history. Please help us keep Belle Meade Boulevard as the gem it’s always been. Let’s protect what makes it special. Once you change nature, you can’t undo it.

I see this regularly in Santa Monica, CA. The city is looking for ways to ensure with the new residence under construction (formerly Kroger Belle Meade & other entities), they are able to use the safe, somewhat serene, beautiful BM Blvd to enhance sales. Even worse, Harding road commuters to DT for work or activities will experience “parking lot” versus travel and unprecedented accidents & road rage as we see in LA.

All of the points in the petition are well stated, thoughtful, and describe accurate outcomes if changes -as planned - are enacted. The beauty of the boulevard and area would be negatively impacted and very sad for citizens in the area to witness and to "live with.". The Nashville area has already experienced the negative impact of these types of changes. In my experience, it increases, congroad rage and has increased reckless driving.

The first question is why fix something that is not broken. This should have been vetted long before the commissioners voted to approve it. Hopefully the appointed committee will act in the best interests of a majority of the residents and recommend this initiative be out to bed. We develop lots of property and you never mix more people with more cars.
