Beggars Hill Road is a no through road in a semirural setting. It is effectively a single country lane without pavements, serving the 13 homes located in the Lands End area of Charvil. It also leads to Ashenbury Park entrances.
Apart from local residents, ramblers, joggers, horse riders, dog walkers and cyclists use this path continuously. School children from Waingels College use this to walk or cycle to Woodley Airfield estate.
As users of the road we petition for the speed limit to be lowered to 20mph and for measures to discourage heavy vehicles from using it to avoid the pinch point on Waingels Road.
We request road signs indicating that the road is used by pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.
We urge Wokingham council to grant a 'Quiet Lane' status for this unique area.
We value the Green wedge area between Charvil and Woodley and want the council to put in place orders to protect it from urbanisation and to conserve the eco-system.
honestly speechless seeing so many people agree that beggars hill road needs some protection. the momentum is real and its because of all of you showing up for this space. now we keep pushing to make sure the council actually listens.
