In 1998, McDonald's introduced a menu item to honor Chicago Bulls center Bill Wennington. Appropriately, the name of this burger was the Beef Wennington. The Beef Wennington featured a single beef patty topped with cheese, onions, barbecue sauce, and a slice of Canadian Bacon (to honor Bill's Canadian heritage). It was a delicious hamburger that was enjoyed by countless Chicagoans until 1999, when it was sadly discontinued. Since then, the Chicago Bulls endured numerous years amongst the bottom feeders of the NBA, and it wasn't until very recently that they have emerged as title contenders once again. If you tune into AM 1000 during a Bulls game, you will hear the voice of the man himself, Bill Wennington. Along with Chuck Swirsky's play by play call, Bill adds flavor and humor with his color commentary. To celebrate the Bulls' rise back to national relevance, McDonald's should reach back into the culinary vault and resurrect the enigma that is the Beef Wennington. Please sign this petition in support of the return of the Beef Wennington, and help by sharing this on Facebook & Twitter. On Twitter, you can mention Bill Wennington by using @34billy42 and the hash tag for this effort is #BeefWennington. Be sure to include @McDonalds in your tweets as well so they are aware of the effort. With your help, we can garner a large number of signatures and present this petition to McDonalds at their Oakbrook, IL headquarters. Thank you, and GO BULLS!
