Please Bee Friendly, Monmouthshire

These are perfect areas for improving plant diversity, unused and visible we can see how much benefit they give wildlife.

We need to do all we can to help to improve the changes for survival of bees which are underthreat form a range of pressures

Verges are increasingly important wildlife habitat and should be allowed to be undisturbed wherever possible, consistent with road safety.

Roadside verges are a keep wildlife habitat and act as a wildlife corridor. Their use as nature reserves in Suffolk is a flagship of how they can be safely used and managed.

Saves money and helps the bees. No brainer!

It seems absurb to spend taxpayers money to cut roadside verges whose manicured state poses no function. Let these areas bloom for a much greater aesthetic beauty than barron green concrete and provide a boon to pollinators, the animals and ecosystems that rely on them.

Our wildlife populations are suffering everywhere - this policy presents a commonsense opportunity to reverse this trend

Cutting roadside verges has always seemed a waste of money anyway,I fully support the proposal. If it is necessary to stop grass falling over the road, then please leave cutting until August or later when the grass begins to drop by which time flowering plants should have set and dropped seed.

With he drastic decline in bees and other pollinating insects, it is important for both farming and nature to do all we can to help them. The proposed pollinator policy should at least be trialled.

Monmouthshire should follow the lead shown by Torfaen County Borough Council recently and adopt a pollinator friendly grass cutting regime.

This is one small step that the council can take that will deliver so much for nature. Please make Monmouthshire a bee friendly county - bees need all the help they can get.

This is so important - and I hope the Council will lead the way. It fits in perfectly with the Welsh Government's Pollinator Plan too.

As a long term user of the lanes, my observation is that too much notice is being taken of vehicles and not enough of preservation of our wild life.

It is vital to do whatever we can to retain wildflower habitat - verges are important.

Please adopt this policy - it's a real everyone wins policy.
