As a campaigner with Torfaen Friends of the Earth for a national bee policy, and having influenced Torfaen CBC through our campaign to make a local pollinators action plan, I strongly support measures for Monmouth to implement a strategy to help bees and other pollinators.

As a bee keeper and a permaculture gardener I know the true value and worth of pollinator species. I also value the diversity of wild flowers in the hedgerows and on the grass verges. Orchids spring to mind. Lets see this policy rolled out nationwide.

In some parts of Monmouthshire the only wild flowers are on the roadside so increasing this habitat would greatly aid biodiversity in county

This is a most welcome idea - less roadside mowing will be of the most enormous benefit to bees and other pollinators and will for the most part not inconvenience anyone. Let's do it!
