This is very bad for the environment because people say that in 2020 there will be more plastic in the great lakes than people. I am currently drafting a formal brief for the Ministry of the Environment to present the evidence regarding microplastic contamination in the Great Lakes. This document will leverage our current signature count to demand a legislative phase out of single use plastic water bottles in Ottawa.

The increase in momentum is now sufficient to initiate formal correspondence with city officials regarding single-use plastic regulations. I am finalizing a briefing document that outlines our policy recommendations for the upcoming council session.
