The lack of a proper solution to Highway 87 is a serious liability and should be addressed immediately. The safety of the residents, business owners and persons traveling this road should be a priority. The need to properly repair Hwy 87 is NOW. Our elected officials should make this A PRIORITY. Any further delays could result in someone being hurt or loss of life. This situation is serious and needs IMMEDIATE ACTION!!!!

I was there recently and shocked how close the water is to the road on a normal day. Way different than it used to be. Must be really scary when the waves are up. It's a lot cheaper to fix it now and something sure needs to be done.

I don't live down there but this is one of my favorite places to go. This is the only way I go to the beach. Would hate to lose it. Plus ones who live there need this road.

I have family (Gilchrist) and friends (Crystal) that lives in the Peninsula. Also friends that work in Galveston at UTMB on the weekends that travel back and forth. There needs to be away to safely evacuate when the next hurricane. We have been going to the beach since I was a child even with us having a lake house. Make HWY 87 safe to travel.

I've been traveling this road since I was 2, i'm 55 now and wouldn't mind being able to go to work, school or the grocers even at high tide. the ferry road was fixed, why isn't our road fixed! taxes paid, but i'm in a death trap should a storm hit. come on, people have started coming back since our hurricaine. keep the money flowing, build us a road
