This is an evacuation Hwy & it becomes impassable during high tides on a normal day. This community that has rebuilt from hurricane Ike deserves better. I had a couple tell me during a cruise in December 2014 they had to navigate around much debris & some water to get to Galveston. They were in shock we deal w/these conditions on a regular basis. They were concerned about their car sitting unwashed 7 days while aboard ship on vacation. This situation not only effects locals but tourists coming to the area.

Please fix the beach road so that my students, fellow teachers and myself can safely get to school in High Island everyday. Please fix the beach road so that my neighbors and myself can safely evacuate before storms and get to medical help when needed.

We have a home on the Bolivar Peninsula. I personally was almost stuck there for Ike. Just barely made it out. Something needs to be done to this section of highway immediately. Seriously, how long does it take to THINK about whether or not something needs to be done?

We had to leave the beach a day early because a storm was coming and we were told the road would be covered in water and it was. The road was closed that night.
