The road needs to be fixed. It's a shame for it to get this bad. I grew up on the peninsula. People use to care about the roads until after Ike. Such a shame.

It would be cheaper to fix it right the first time. Quit wasting money on temporary fixes that is not working.

This needs to be fixed for the Citizens in Bolivar Peninsula. And for all that travel that Highway. If the ferry is not running the 87 to 124 is the only way out. Do not leave these people in Danger. Their safety is in your hands.

Without the ingress/egress at 87/124, the beach is in dire straits. Those of us who come to the peninsula from points east will think long and hard about having to come via Galveston. It will add another 2 1/2 - 3 hours to the commute....

As a home owner on Bolivar Peninsula, I have seen the deterioration of hwy.87. Before hurricane Ile,it was protected by 25ft sand dunes. THE dunes and beach were wiped out by Ike.the road is our EMERGENCY EVACUATION ROUTE OFF the penninsula. If the hwy is impassable with a storm coming in, PEOPLE WILL DIE. THE PERMANENT REPAIR OF HWY.87 MUST BE THE HIGHEST PRIORITY.
This road desperately needs to be fixed now!
