BEACH ROAD - FIX HWY 87

My boyfriend and I had a travel trailer at a RV park in Bolivar. Recently he had to evacuate his trailer due to road conditions. We would love to know that this road will be repaired and we would not have to worry about being able to remove our trailer when the tide gets high or their are severe storms.

Fix that road

This road needs to be fixed.

My new home will be in Bolivar, I travel by way of Winnie to High Island and West to Bolivar. Roads are dangerous. ....PLEASE MAKE NEW AND MAINTAIN

Travel this road as often as possible.

It's just crazy. This needs to be corrected now!

This is a very important Hiway to the residents and visitors of The Bolivar Penusila. It must remain open and could be done at comparatively low cost. Please keep our road passable!

We have drove this stretch of highway on several occasions to get to Galveston. We made a trip in October and the road was actually closed due to the rain and tide. The next 2 trips weren't as smooth either. The tide had come in and the road was covered in sand and debris that had washed up. This really needs to addressed immediately.

Hwy. 87 is the evacuation route for local residents, and is the shortest route for ambulances transferring patients from the east Texas area to UTMB and Shriners Burn Center in Galveston. It would be truly sad and unexplainable if Hwy. 87 were allowed to fail. Hwy. 87 has been at risk since before Hurricane Ike, and the eastern portion of the highway from High Island to Sabine Pass has been impassable since the early 1990's. Hwy 87 to Galveston is too important to allow that same thing to occur again. This situation is an opportunity for TxDOT and our State leaders to stand up and take expedited, decisive actions to protect this critical section of state infrastructure that is so valuable to residents across the State of Texas and beyond. I hope they do.

I do not live there however have a lot of friends that do reside there & need that clearance at anytime needed ! As a child seeing this problem get worse & worse over ther years! Also when I'm able to escape & enter onto the pensula & ready for tranquility I would love to be able get to my destination!

Something needs to be done.

Please fix this road so future generations can enjoy the peninsula!!!

I fully support the repair. You must have passage for a community to continue to thrive.

I live on the Peninsula and have elderly parents that live north of Beaumont in Kirbyville. I must travel there often and this is my shortest route I need the area to remain passable!

Do what's right.

Please do something to protect this vulnerable road for safe evacuations!

No other community in Galveston County is as RED as the Red Headed Stepchildren of Bolivar Peninsula.

We pay taxes to Galveston and think they should fix our roads.

This road needs to be repaired.
