Governor Greg Abbott, Rep. Wayne Faircloth & Mr. James Bass, as a home owner and tax payer in Crystal Beach, Texas, Galveston County, I along with the other residents and property owners on the Bolivar Peninsula have a right for safe passage along Highway 87. This highway is the ONLY route to evacuate the peninsula in the event of catastrophic weather events. This highway has been needing repair, or possible re-routing since Hurricane Ike, EIGHT years ago! The highway is impassable during minor weather events. For example, It is absolutely ridiculous to have to call a grocery store, or someone else in the High Island area, to see if they know whether or not the road is passable or not. Being born and raised in the State Of Texas, and a tax payer for the better part of 45 years, I DEMAND, the the politicians get off their ass, and get the DOT engineers to design a plan to correct this problem, before loss of life occurs, which can happen at anytime. Do the politicians care about this situation, probably NOT. But it's your jobs that you were elected to do. Keep your campaign promises and do your jobs, and HELP the coastal residents in YOUR state!

Please fix the beach roads all along 87. I have lived this area for 25 hrs and I keep hearing it's going to be fix, the end is coming also but I sure would like to enjoy the beach areas before that happens.

We live in High Island all our doctors and anything to do with county taxes, car license etc. we have to go to Galveston. It has gotten to where when we have appointments etc. and the water is over the road we have detour thru I H 10 then thru 565 back around to Texas City. It is a shame that our county can't help find a quick solution or at least come to see how bad it is when the water is over the road. We depend on this road for a lot of things as of others. Please help us out and others who depend on Hwy 87 and Hwy 124.

Long over due
