.....who has the job to fix the road? The money has been there, the road has been bad since 1986. Someone NEEDS to be fired. In my real world, that is what happens to a person who does not do their JOB! It's not hard, no scientific studies need to be done, fire the person or persons that haven't done their job, and FIX THE ROAD.

This is a travesty! Surely our FEMA money from IKE must have been misappropriated or stolen. This is of Historic Mismanagement of Federal Funds. Fix This Immediately!!!!!!

Please fix this hwy! When I was growing up we learned how important this road was to our being able to evacuate. At the ferry you have to wait in very long lines and at some point they stop running and this would trap us there. My mother still lives there as do many others and I do not want to worry that she is able to get out in time due to the conditions of Hwy 87.

Need to raise the road to allow for evacuation in the event of a Hurricane.
Especially when the Ferry's stop running and that is the only way off the Peninsula! You thank that can happen. Better than closing the pass wasting money building a pier.

Beside the fact that the highway needs to be moved inland, this is a very dark stretch of road. I travel this highway at 4am to get to work. Not many people on the road at that time of the morning! Sunday morning, as I was driving to work, I encountered standing water in the eastbound lane about half way between rollover and the 124 curve. When traveling at the posted speed limit, this'll definitely get your attention!
Until the highway is moved or repaired or whatever, we need street lights installed, just like on the other end of the peninsula closer to the ferry! At least at the known trouble spots!
I could definitely see where someone could be involved in a serious accident because of this situation!
