In British Columbia, we produce the majority of our power via hydroelectric generation.

Hydroelectric generation in our current carbon crisis can be considered to be 'GREEN'.

Those people who have electric cars electric and/or electric heat have a lower carbon footprint. The problem is how BC Hydro structures its step rates.

If you have an electric car or electric heat, you are likely forced into the step 2 rate.

Why should users of 'GREEN' power be unfairly punished for using electric vehicles or electric heating their homes?

BC Hydro step rates are discriminatory and a significant disincentive for people to lower their carbon footprint and move towards 'GREEN' technologies.

If you want to buy an electric car or have electric heating, you need to act today. We should encourage people to go 'GREEN', not punish them!
