The city of Fort Worth, Texas has changed a city ordinance that seems a little bit of a nuisance. It seems it was voted that anyone residing in apartment complexes can no longer keep a grill on their patio.

Since we barbeque several times a week, you can see the conundrum we are in. We own a large grill, and are being asked to remove it. It is a really inconvenient regulation.

Supposedly, we can barbeque, we just cant storage our grill on our patio. I understand that they are concerned because of fire safety concerns, but some of us comply with the rules.

Being that we are habitual bbq'ers, we always respect the rules to bbq at least 15 to 20 ft away from the apartment. We literally bbq 3 to 4 times a week, but worry that we will no longer be able to do that...if we have to move the grill to a storage facility.

I think that is not fair, because it was never mentioned in the lease...and in fact when we asked if we could bbq...they initially told us yes. They have told us that this is an official regulation, and we must remove our grill from our patio...even though there is clearly more than enough space for the grill.

Please sign my petition in agreement with us that this city ordinance should be returned to its previous state, when people could keep their bbq grills on their patios, and well covered up.

Because it is not stated in the lease agreement at my apartment complex that we cannot keep our Barbeque pits on the Balcony and when i has moved into my Apartment Complex on October 1-2014 they did allow us to keep our Barbeque pit on the patio and balcony as long as we dont use it on the balcony and patio and pulls it 20 feet from building when Barbeque.

It's not fair. Responsible people should not be punished for others. Fires can be started and have been from cooking in the kitchen

I just don’t understand why it can’t be at least stored on the patio

This is wrong especially if you have no storage in your apartment.

I want to cookout instead of going out, or using the grills at the pool then walk back to my apartment.

YEAH !!!! Whats the harm in having your grill sit on your patio. NOTHING !!!! What you think it might start cooking something on its own. Just something else to BICKER ABOUT, is all. Its a CONTROL THING.!!!!!
