BBNP visitor centre closures

To loose these centres would be a huge mistake for merely short term gain. They provide a vital service. We should be opening more to encourage more visitors, not closing them!

Are we really so bankrupt that we cannot find the funds to this essential centre for such a fabulous National Park

Usual economy drive - sack the Indians, keep the Chiefs! (More office space!)

by closing these amenities what are your plans to encourage people from near and far including school groups to visit the area to learn and gain from the great surroundings within the national park, although efficiencies have to be made why not look at reduced hours or even volunteers to help with the shortfall

It seems as if it's done and dusted for closureAfter speaking to Andrea and Rachel today whom I say are an asset to the centre,what a disaster to lose such a much loved and informed mind of information to the general public.A disaster if you go ahead with the closure.

Please keep the BBNP visitor centres open - local people and Welsh tourism need them

This is a wonderful place to visit, surely it is busy enough with walkers and day visitors to justify it being kept open?

The visitor centres are valuable for regular local visitors to the Beacons and to those from further afield. The information available particularly at Libinus is very good and will be sorely missed. Is this the thin edge of the wedge, will the tea room go next a facility which we from the Bridgend Ramblers often use both for a cuppa and for a group lunch a couple of times a year. I hope not. It isn't all about money.

A valuable local resource would be lost if closed. Please keep it open.

It will be an absolute shame if this important facility closes.. It is an essential component of the public service that the National Park provides

The knock in affect has not been considered.

Please keep the Brecon Beacons visitor centre open to enable many people to learn about and enjoy the national park.

Very shortsighted economically. Loss of advertising for a tourism dependant area

What a shortsighted move,

What utter madness this is. This is the only place in the area where walkers and visitors can access information on the area. It is a destination for those seeking adventure/leisure in the Beacons. It is an outlet for local craftspeople and traders. The Beacons is a Dark Sky Area and this alone demands an information centre. This decision is being made by people who have not been elected to the authority who will have a huge effect on the lives of local people.

Surely this is a basic duty of the Authority and the very reason National Parks were formed in the first place. The cost of promoting tourism is far outweighs by the income it generates so important to our local rural economy.
