This petition is a simple forum for all those who sign it to voice their request that the De Montfort Students Union bring back Big Bad Cheese on a Saturday night to the University Union. As students we appreciate that change is a natural occurrence and sometimes quite necessary, however more than a few people have voiced a concern that currently Saturday nights at the Union are not as special or as enjoyable as they used to be, mostly because of the music. Ask many ex students and they will all re-call great nights at "Cheese" on a Saturday, playing songs that we can all dance and sing along to in such a different way to the other nights in the week when we get to hear the Top 40 and dance music. Saturday nights used to be a real original gem in the university night life experience, and this petition is here to demonstrate that there is significant demand to bring that back. Either with Big Bad Cheese or to have one room on a Saturday night that plays the late 80s,90s and 00s tracks that really get DMU in a party mood. The music change to this years current set up was due to low attendance on Saturdays at the SU however this year the SU is seeming quieter than ever, so maybe its time to bring back the cheese!
