Petition to Tampa City Council and Mr. Casper

I strongly oppose any development of the Stovall residence into a commercial business by Mr. Casper. It must not be permitted.

No to Stovall. Don’t ignore the residential zoning or the rights of the many home owners by downgrading our neighborhood and quality of life for one business man for a private social drinking and entertaining club. Direct him to select a property on a commercially zoned location and in line with the long range development plan.

No commercial development for a private drinking establishment in Bayshore Beautiful Neighborhood. Don’t increase the potential for more tragic vehicle accidents along Bayshore and our neighborhoods.

No to Stovall —it does not positively support safety on Bayshore nor our residential setting.

As a resident of the Bayshore Beautiful neighborhood, I firmly oppose Mr. Casper's application and proposal for the Stovall property. It will create unnecessary noise, traffic, and dangers for the surrounding neighborhoods as well as increase hazards for the drivers and pedestrians along Bayshore Boulevard. A development like this does not belong in a residential neighborhood.

Channelside or Riverwalk is better suited for this project not a residential area that has always been so.

I hope the city council does the right thing and rejects the Caspers proposal. The streets are already narrow and crowded. The neighborhood is just that: a place for people to live and relax. It is not right to have a banquet facility/bed and breakfast/ restaurant bar of this size (or any size really) in your backyard.

The horrendous accident on Bayshore Blvd sealed the deal. No more commercial activity on Bayshore! There is no place for this kind of activity here. That awful accident is seared in my brain forever. I hope the Caspers will enjoy the beautiful property that they purchased. And I hope the rest of us can live/walk safely along our Bayshore.

The increased danger and nuisance that this proposal would pose to the residents who live in this neighborhood, which include both many elderly residents and young children, is unacceptable. It would be unconscionable for the City Council members to approve of a plan which would permit alcohol to be served all night long to 200 guests, on a property which is in the middle of a quiet residential community. The increased traffic, noise, and danger would be harmful to each and every property owner in the surrounding neighborhood, and it would serve to benefit only one private individual, Mr. Casper. I also note that it is extremely unlikely that the potential 200 guests for any event, plus however many vendors/staff required to serve such an event, would require only the proposed 80 on-site parking spaces. The excess cars and vendor vehicles would no doubt be parked on the narrow, brick streets of the neighborhood, making it difficult for residents - and emergency vehicles - to pass. If the members of the City Council fail to reject this unconscionable proposal, the displeasure of your voting public absolutely will be reflected in the next election. You were elected because we trust you to do what is right, ethical, and the best for your public. Please do not disappoint us.

200 guests dining is a full on restaurant. Let’s not forget wedding receptions & a band would be next... This would be a loud for any neighbors who live nearby & is not what the homes on Bayshore are about. There is a lot of other options in the area. Why not invest in another space already zoned for commercial use- how about revive copper fish with your passion to help the neighborhood. It’s a perfect spot that needs help...

Does not belong in a residential area, especially Bayshore

A terrible thing to put in the middle of a residential area not to mention the narrow brick side streets to be used for all the deliveries.

What a horrible idea, s Tampa is already congested with traffic, and to fill in a retention pond anywhere in this area is crazy!! We already flood with a typical summer downpour!

Would love to know the reasoning for not allowing trucks on Bayshore and whether the council will change this ruling to accommodate the commercialization should this proposal get approved.

I do not live on any of the impacted streets but I do walk Bayshore Blvd regularly. Mr Casper’s proposal is going to make crossing Bayshore Blvd an even riskier venture and absolutely negatively impact all the people on the surrounding streets. These residents were there before Mr Casper. He does not have the right to change the zoning. He may have overpaid for the Stovall mansion in the hopes that he could make it a commercial property yet it was purchased as a residential property and should remain so. For the record, please make it clear that zoning changes can not be made without 100% support of the impacted neighbors. No one in S Tampa will ever accept that - not without a fight. What will happen if one of his inebriated guests hit someone upon departure? Who will be responsible?

Shocking to think that Bayshore Blvd and its neighboring streets are not protected in perpetuity by the legacy left our city by Eugene Holsinger and Alfred Rueben Swann!

Our residential street of Coachman Ave will be the main access for commercial trucks as they are not permitted on Bayshore Blvd. The brick street was not intended for commercial use. Residential volume on this street has already peaked with the amount of residential construction, Bayshore detours due to road improvements, and UPS/Fedex. Additional traffic from patrons and commercial vehicles will make it impossible to provide access to our own homes.

I am strongly against this, I love on Bayshore Court and traffic and alcohol use does not belong in a neighborhood

Against concrete negative effects on the adjacent neighborhood and Bayshore Boulevard, there are no evident public benefits to this project.
