we want ownership not rehabilitation
The movement against the forceful eviction of the poor people and slum dwellers started 6 years back under the banner of BASTI BACHAO SANGARSH SAMITI. this to be noted that these section of people belongs to the unorganized sector of labours. this time the government by keeping the High Court decision at the fore, had started evacuating the lands by bulldozing the shelters in the name of encroachment. Areas in Dhanbad, bokaro, Tata and capital Ranchi is bulldozed in a short notification in war footing manner. In Ranchi and Dhanbad 6 peoples shot died by police. first time in INDIAN history police used A-k 47 in the mass movement. Now the talks come to ranchi , it is to be noted that during the foundation years of HEC, the government itself provided these people land to build up their shelters. Not only that, these people have voter card, ration card, electricity, telephone and water connection, residential certificates etc. As that time it was need for the Industry for prolonged develpment, but this time it is encroachment. Point is that these people have been residing in these areas for 50-60 years and they have necessary legal documents with them. The supreme court verdict itself says that some one residing in an area for 20 years, they get the right of that place. Many rich and powerful peoples illegally occupied in many places through out state and they made it legal too. from other countries like pakistan and bangladesh are residing in many parts of india such as delhi , Agra, west bengal etc. Itself Netaji Nagar, Kantatoli in Ranchi also falls under this and they have been given the ownership of these lands. Dont forget the historical decision of Allahabad high court which rules that a part of land of AYODHYA should be considered as a land of lord RAMA, because rama has stayed here for 50 years. Anyhow they need these lands to construct shopping malls, multiplexes, hotels etc. for their pecuniary benefits. BASTI BACHAO SANGARSH SAMITI, demands the right of lands. we appeal all of u to join us to intensify this movement against eviction of those poor and unorganized sector labour peoples, who have the only way left for mass movement. Also , we expecting ur opinions and feedbacks which will give moral support.
