We strongly oppose the redistricting of Lake Camelot Estates to Oakview. The residents of Lake Camelot chose the location with Basswood as their choice of schools. The School Board should not take this matter into their own hands without collaberation for an option AND a vote from the residents who voted them into office. Oakview Elementary school receives a 3 out of 10 in GreatSchool.org rating, and the board should be embarrased that there are schools under their jurisdiction that are rated as worst in class. The board should turn their attention and efforts on how to raise the current standard of Oakview. The board has no right to affect our property values which will ecrease substantially. The pure fact that not all residents whose homes and values would be affected, shows a HUGE disrespect to the all of the residents of Lake Camelot to quickly push the rezoning through relatively unannounced. Our voice and vote mattered when the levies were passed, we expect our voice and vote to be counted now as well.

students who are currently open enrolled should be first to be moved to free up space. many families chose the reserve neighborhood based on school zoning in mind, to change that is pulling the rug out from underneath. families will relocate.

Bottom line: more time is needed to ensure the right adjustments are made for all families.

Firmly oppose the rezoning being proposed. Recently moved into Hampton Hills and mapping to Basswood was a big draw for our family.

We chose this neighborhood when moving from Columbus, OH in April 2012 after spending countless hours researching schools for our new family. It doesn't even seem possible that a neighborhood developed and zoned (and marketed with the intent to attract discerning families willing to pay a premium for their home based on school systems), could even be in discussion to move from a top 2 elementary school in to a bottom 40%.

We moved here to be part of the basswood/maple grove schools. Being close to the school your children attend increases parental and community involvement.

Please allow my children to stay at Basswood. They are recieving excellent opportunities and are well established. Forcing them to change schools will limit their opportunites and cause a great deal of unnessary anxiety.

The academic performance of Basswood far exceeds Oak View. I do not support this rezoning.

I have lived in this school disctict for almost 25 years. This is the first time time that there was almost no communcation about this pending change in enough time to provide input. This is not the way to gain trust between the School Board and the families that live in the district.

I have toured Cedar Island and Oakview and they are sub-par. I currently know two families trying to get out of Cedar Island because of the poor quality. I know a student who left Oakview because she and her family was so unhappy with their processes. My family and I have toured both Oakview and Cedar island and their facilities are not as well kept. I have many friends who go to Basswood and will miss their friends.

Families of the actual base school should have the open enrollment priority to stay NOT those that have open enrolled and have a base school to attend.

There are multiple schools closer to our home in Plymouth. This rezoning fails to see the forest through the trees.

This decision offers no options or alternatives - just rezone! We moved to Lake Camelot for Basswood. This rezone will decrease my home value by at least 50-75,000. In addition private school would then be 20-30,000 a year. We will not go to Oakview or Cedar Island. This has a huge financial impact on my family. I am disappointed in the way this was handled by the district - giving residents just a few weeks to look at zero options before pushing the rezoning through. This rezoning decision will effectively ruin Lake Camelot in the course if a few years. Why remodel? Even putting our house on the market today would not prevent the financial loss.

Seems rush and not well communicated to residents effected by the change.
