Me and my family have just relocated here from Canada. We chose this area for our children and the schools! They have just been up rooted this past October leaving all their friends and famiily behind. It was a tough adjustment for all of us and they want to up root my kids again??? I'm not having this!!! THIS REZONING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!

You were elected to this position to make good choices that will support our children not uproot them.
This Rezoning will unnecessarly effect our children and property values. Move the new construction to the under utilized schools.

The handling of this alone is appalling considering it's coming from a board of educators and professionals.
It is unacceptable that re-zoning is the boards solution without addressing the open-enrollment issue, especially considering where those open-enrollment students reside based on their residency.

This has been so deceiptful. Had I known I was voting to uproot my child from her school when I voted for the operating levy, my vote would have been a firm NO. The way to fix this without disrupting current students is to stop the open enrollment.

It seems extremely unfair that we have kids open enrolled at Basswood, yet we aren't considering moving the kids back to their neighborhood schools to help eliminate the capacity issue.

There are plenty of alternative solutions to the overcrowding problem at Basswood that should be considered

Please leave us in the area we are zoned for and have the open enrolled students go to the schools they are supposed to be in. It's not right that we would have to switch schools but those open enrolled would stay at Basswood.

We want to send our children to a good school, with good teachers, and a reasonable class size.

I have a child entering kindergarten in the fall of 2014. I would have known nothing of this if not for the communication from my neighbors. This is very disappointing that we were given no notice.

Listen to the parents and teachers. They are the ones that will live with the decision. What may appear to look good in theory and on paper rarely works in reality.

I have lived in the District 279 my entire childhood and educated my children in this district as well. There is no other event that stifles the consistency in education excellence than the constant change of boundaries. It is not good for schools, teachers, children or families.

This redistricting should not go forward at all much less in such a hasty manner that parents have little time to express their opinion or opposition.
Other solutions need to be explored
