We are appalled that this would be considered the "best way" to make all day kindergarten happen at Basswood. Redoing boundaries and still allowiing current open enrolled in the school. There are other solutions, both long and short term. Do not change our elementary school boundaries! This is ridiculous and was handled very poorly. And what about the space in the school that is being used for day care services? perhaps that should be used for education and the daycare center bussed to another location.

This is not acceptable. The re-zoning affected my children when it occurred 5 years ago. I had to made huge sacrifices and I don't not want to make more sacrifices again that will affect me for the next 5 years.

We strongly oppose the redistricting of the Reserve development in Plymouth to Oakview. The School Board should not make this decision without vote from the residents .

Redistricting basswood families to oak view will force many families to open enroll their kids in other districts or charter schools, is that what you want district 279???? As a 279 grad and a teacher, I am disappointed regarding how 279 deals with school districting- it impacted me 20 years ago and they still can't seem to get it right :(

I moved into Camelot Estates over 10 years ago for the fact that my daughters would be going to Maple Grove Schools, not Osseo. I divorced 7 years ago and have maintained my house, which is bigger than our needs, for the same reason. My girls love their schools and I have the upmost respect for the teachers in the Maple Grove Schools. I am opposed to this not only as a taxpayer as I don't want my home value to decrease but as a Mother, who wants the best for her children.

please don't rezone, just wait until the 6th graders goto middle school and see what happens.

Parents consider many things when determining the best options for their families. In relocation last Fall to MN from NC, our choice was made based on schools for our 10 and 6 year children. We knew this was a long termed decision will lasting implications. In review of this district our needs were met and we invested in our home. We were told MN takes pride in education, they listen to their constituents and the kids are #1 in this district. I know question my decision when there are flippant and unconcerned changes made without consideration for the ripple effect. I can't speak for others but I am sure most considered the same when determining what is best for their families. Wayzata, would have been the easy choice and may have to be, however we were told our Leadership in 279 had the same pride in making sure they protected what was right and made decisions with their constituents at the forefront.

This is outright hypocrisy from a Board that bills itself as transparent. I found out about this from my kids when they came home from school last week…not how it should have been communicated. I feel betrayed and wonder why the Board was trying to sneak this past the people they represent. I will be looking to see how I can withhold my tax dollars lest they get this right. More alternatives need to be brought to bear and discussed in an open form.

It is not reasonable that we were not given proper notice. It is not reasonable that the alternative school proposed is not of equal or better standing. It is not fair or reasonable to our children or our property to provide a "downgraded" school option". I just moved here only 1 year and trusted that the school district would remain the same. Perhaps your proposal should affect NEW HOME OWNERS who would then be able to decide what is best for their children.

Why is Rush Creek always left out of the mix? I have had three kids go through Basswood, Maple Grove Jr and Sr. We have enough housing in Maple Grove. Stop the building and shift some kids to Rush Creek.

My husband and I are closing on a home in 1 month that is currently zoned for Basswood. We have 3 small children and I was devistated to hear of this news. The opportunity for our children to attend Basswood was a huge selling point for us. I am hoping our voices willbe heard and other options will be considered.

Why keep open enrolled kids who are out of the boundary and cut out kids that were originally in the boundary area?
