Bass Lake Road Traffic & Pedestrian Safety At The Lake NOW!

My husband and I were almost killed by a drunk driver on Bass Lake Road on 8/24/2025. What does it take to make inprovements on this road to a 4 lane with a barrier in between the north and south bound lanes!!! Corruption and Greed is what the problem truly is in California.

Agree with all 4 recommendations. Please don’t wait for one or more deaths. Be proactive.

Bass Lake traffic conditions are deteriorating quickly as congestion grows. Without sidewalks, pedestrians and bicyclists are subject to rapidly increasing risks.

These suggested improvements are long over due.

We need improvements made now.

Please make Bass Lake Rd safer between Serrano Pkwy and Green Valley. We need neighborhood turning lanes, bike lanes, and sidewalks!

There needs to be sidewalks and bike lanes that permit safe access for children and adults from the Hills of El Dorado Village to the Bass Lake Park that will be constructed. It is absolutely absurd to build a park that children will be drawn to and not provide safe access to the park! Needless serious injuries and deaths are going to occur.

This road is extremely dangerous right now let alone when more people are living off this road.

For one of the main arteries of EDH between Green Valley Rd and US50, it's amazing what little safety and pedestrian/bike lane access there is for this road. The lack of turn lanes as more and more development/cars on the road makes it harder and harder (and more dangerous) to turn on and off of Bass Lake.

Fix this road now before it gets more expensive!! my family and all families living around it deserve to be safe.

put stop signs up at Bridlewood drive in the morning it takes 10 min sometimes to pull out on Bass Lake the developers don,t care just ridicules what is going on up here several times I have almost been rear ended and have seen several wrecks outside the gate

I feel like I’m going to be rear ended every time I slow down to be able make a right turn into Woodridge . Things will only get worse with all the new homes, and the shopping center traffic!

This is a serious safety issue! Please take preventative measures!

Road improvements are needed now, since the conditions will not support current and especially future traffic flows.

We are trying to get ahold of someone with the BLAC, (John Davey was quoted in the Mt.Demo.) Joe (Williams) was one of the 1st organizers and trustee of the Bass Lake Hills Specific Plan...this includes Hawk View & Bell Woods. He built our home on Hollow Oak Dr,, 40 years ago. We are trying to communicate with the County (Ha!). Joe's 1st wife was killed in an auto accident at the corner of Hollow Oak and Bass Lake. With all of the additional homes and businesses, and new roads entering/exiting Bass Lake, and the long term additional expansion that is inevitable in the area, widening the road is common sense. This is also about thinking ahead and not trying to fix an expensive problem after the fact.

If it were not for the left turn lane for southbound traffic on Bass Lake at Madera, I would have been rear ended several times. Cars routinely just cross over the center line and go into the left turn lane. Right turn lanes should have been put at the Bridlewood & WoodRidge entrances. The pullover spaces for the school buses just needed to be extended another 50 feet or so and then right turning traffic could get out of the way of the cars going 50 mph. Improvements are way overdue all the way from the 50 to Green Valley Rd.
