Bass Lake Road Traffic & Pedestrian Safety At The Lake NOW!

If it were not for the left turn lane for southbound traffic on Bass Lake at Madera, I would have been rear ended several times. Cars routinely just cross over the center line and go into the left turn lane. Right turn lanes should have been put at the Bridlewood & WoodRidge entrances. The pullover spaces for the school buses just needed to be extended another 50 feet or so and then right turning traffic could get out of the way of the cars going 50 mph. Improvements are way overdue all the way from the 50 to Green Valley Rd.

Please make the same improvements where Hallow Oak Rd. joins Bass Lake Rd. Specifically, a middle "stacking lane" for left turns from Hollow Oak onto South bound Bass Lake.

Widening the entirety of Bass Lake Rd, from US 50 to Green Valley Rd, is critical to our community's public safety. Anything short of 4 auto lanes, bicycle lanes, and sidewalks puts lives at risk. Regardless of EDC's position, Bass Lake Rd is a commuter thorough-way about to become heavily congested from development. FOR ONCE EDC BE PROACTIVE AND BUILD OUT BEFORE PROBLEMS ARISE

Traffic counts don't tell the story. Accident densities do. Use common sense please and make our roads safer.

We need safer roads. They are building homes, parks and stores. Kids should feel safer riding bikes or people safe driving around those narrow corners.

Please expand and improve Bass Lake Rd from Hwy 50 to Green Valley to make it safe for autos, bicyclists and pedestrians.

I drive this road all the time and it freaks me out when the weather is nice and clear and freaks me out even more so when it’s raining. Something needs to be done to improve the road.

Living in the Hills of El Dorado subdivision, we have no safe pedestrian, nor bicycle assess out of out community utilizing Bass Lake Road. We have no turn pockets for right hand turns from Bass Lake Road onto Magnolia Hills Drive creating a dangerous situation for that 40 mph traffic at that intersection.

I avoid Bass Lake road at all costs. Using the Hwy 50 westbound exit puts anyone into a “suicide lane” when attempting merge with traffic from the eastbound 50 off ramp. There is no safe place to avoid cars speeding up onto Bass Lake road. This might have been a good solution even fifteen years ago, but terrible now.
