I am a resident of the Lower East Side, and I am very upset that promises made to our community for a community recreation facility and for addressing concerns about affordable access of local youth and families to the sports and recreation facility are now being ignored by Basketball City. I support the following for the local residents of our community: 1) Hiring local residents to fill full and part-time positions 2) Discounted yearly membership fees for local residents 3) Discounted daily open play fees for local residents, and 4) Construction of community rooms for use by local non-profit organizations and schools at no charge.
