The most desirable residential communities in any state are those that have access to good schools. BASIS Scottsdale is a nationally ranked school, with a prestigious reputation. Housing the school in this Scottsdale neighborhood will not only increase the value of the properties in the surrounding areas, but will also welcome a very strong positive reputation to the area. BASIS is dedicated, as evidenced by the points above, to work with the neighborhood to make this endeavor a beneficial and positive experience for all involved. Please don't prevent an excellent school from making a difference in the lives of students in Arizona.

I fully support the new basis school. We moved to our house to be near basis Scottsdale and even though I work in NYC we stay in Scottsdale because of basis.

I am in favor of the new Basis Scottsdale location. I am confident that Basis is addressing the safety / traffic issues raised.

Our only child will be a Senior in the '16/'17 school year, so we don't have a huge proverbial horse in the race. However, we are in full support of this well-thought-out, safety-focused, neighborhood value-adding proposition. A few more cars appearing on 128th street doesn't make the school an unsafe place. The surrounding neighborhood is making a valiant effort to raise safety and security as THE issue behind their opposition. After all, who would argue against this supposition? The traffic consultant did a GREAT job of mimicking traffic jams at 128th & Shea. What nobody asked was how many cars he had to assume in his presentation would travel that direction during school AM and PM hours in order to create that misleading graphic. His graphics assumed exponentially more cars than are heading in that direction at ANY time during the day. After all, the only place to continue driving east at 128th Street is Fountain Hills, save for a few cars heading to Mayo or 136th Street. However, the elephant in the room is their likely opposition to ANY project that would be proposed for this site - multi-unit housing, convenience store, book store, etc. They have always assumed this parcel would never be sold to anyone other than possibly other future home owners. After all, there are no major intersections that would be of commercial interest. Schools exist within neighborhoods and next to homes all across the country, and the world for that matter. The difference is that the schools have usually existed prior to the building of homes. It's different in this case. However, once the school is built, the area will be exactly like the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of thousands of schools and neighborhoods all across the US. (see the NEW housing developments on Shea at 136th and about 128th) If safety were such an issue, why were home builders allowed to add to the traffic flow of the streets immediately surrounding Basis in the development at 136th & Shea and

This school is too important to stifle. It needs a larger campus, it needs the breathing room to grow.

BASIS Scottsdale needs your support. The school is providing an excellent educational service to our young people. Unless BASIS is allowed to grow many young persons will miss out on the quality education the school offers.
