Baseball Stadium in the City of Madison - No Donations Required

Because building this stadium will impact Madison traffic, infrastructure support, additional law enforcement protection, the possibility of using tax dollars, and the quality of life to Madison residents, this decision to have a bond issue to help finance this project should be decided by the voters who will be impacted by building such a stadium.

This should be decided by the Madison citizens not the City Council and Mayor. It should be voted on. We should build things that would improve quality of life not something that would drown the City with debt. I vote no.

I do not want Madison to build this stadium. I want Madison to improve its infrastructure before anything else! That means roads!

I think the registered Madison voters should be able to vote on whether or not we want to invest so much money in a baseball stadium.

I agree that the registered voters should be able to vote to move forward or drop the proposed venue for a baseball stadium.

I simply do not want a stadium going up so close to my home. Madison residents should be allowed to vote on whether we even WANT a stadium.

i believe as citizens and property owners we should have a right to vote on this.

I love baseball, and I would love to see it back in Huntsville. And it’s great it would be closer to home but we need to fully understand the impacts — what this is going to do to traffic and home values. I don’t think the decision should be made without the citizens. The Madison Boulevard and Zierdt intersection is already a nightmare.

This can only benefit developer and Ballcorp it will cause many issue for Madison residents We have a concert venue in Huntsville that has problems selling out all venues was recently renovated Minor league don’t make money Dallas diamonds Newark Bears both bust but tax payers still paying for rotting stadiums

I'm for letting the citizens speak their opinion. I am concerned about the traffic that this already congested area has. It would be a nightmare!

Please let us vote on this. I don't want us as taxpayers forced on us. There is no guarantee we will get a team and if they do, will they stay. I feel, as a taxpayer, we can invest in something better, with guaranteed return on investment

This is a community matter that should be decided by the residents of Madison City and not left to only the decision of the Madison city council and Mayor. If tax dollars or Municipal bonds are going to be used, residents have the right to know how their public funds are being spent.

These baseball subsidies have failed at nearly every location they have tried. Failed in Huntsville and it is destined to fail in Madison. I also believe it will reduce our already falling home and property values.

We need to be able to vote on this. Huntsville stars failed for a reason!

There are different location opportunities within the nearby area which could accommodate a public multi-purpose venue without encroaching on private homes or congested roads. Checkout Dunlop Road area, Intergraph Corporation and adjacent sites. Space for parking, roadways, unused buildings, and BTW, the polling place for voters. One could also ask just who (on the city council) benefits from this taxing experience...

So many worthy uses for this money. With the Stars not doing well I. Huntsville, what makes us think that a team would bring in enough fans in Madison?
