Any chance of North Tyneside Council or local MPs getting involved?

Closing this branch would be another nail in North Shields coffin.

I’ve been a Barclays customer for a very long time, all over the UK, Whitley Bay and currently North Shields. The NS branch must be a leading branch. When I have visited there has generally been a queue. It is larger and in current climate which, I suspect, is with us for some while longer, is better suited to social distancing with entry/exit route. There is also no shortage of parking or waiting areas. Whitley Bay becoming the main branch of the area doesn’t really meet any of those criteria. Could it really cope with the increase in custom? The queues would be out of the door and past the external cash dispensers at busy times. I personally feel that the North Shields branch is the much more viable location but (I think) it would be drastic if either location had to closed.

not good for the elderly having to get transport to the nearest other branch during these testing times.
