This is ridiculous. Barbara has done so much for this school and she deserves better than this petty drama.

This is grossly offensive and absolutely does not represent the opinions of all volunteers. I volunteer and disagree with this vehemently! This is so embarrassing to have associated with our school. This is childish behavior that is vilifying Barbara. It is unwarranted! There are members of the MCN Board who have voiced concern regarding how Barbara is being treated and how MCN is behaving. This is a gross demonstration! You should be ashamed.

I’m not sure if I understand why a board member is being lambasted for having a different opinion. It is perfectly within her rights as a board member to call into question decisions which she believes may not be consistent with policy. We need board members to hold all of us accountable to policies, procedures, laws and regulations. This is essentially what keeps MATES, a publicly funded charter school, in business. Without adhering to this process, even if unintentional, our school is left at risk. Moving forward, I am hopeful that we can all agree that it is in the best interest of our children, as parents and adults, that we model respectful discourse, allow space for raising legitimate questions and concerns-including opposing viewpoints, and choose not to publicly shame, criticize or disparage others, even if we may disagree about the content.
