Corporal punishments all fall under the “cruel and unusual punishment” clause of the Bill of Rights and must be abolished permanently!

I was paddled as a child and experienced violent behavior by teachers and adults as a child. Corporal punishment does not solve a problem, it creates a cyclical problem and should be banned in all American schools.

positive child discipline .all children, at home or school ,no excuse for violence towards a child. I have over twenty years exp.in the early childhood field. I am a strong advocate of positive discipline and teach parents to understand their child'sdevelopment (ages and stages.Positive discipline teaches empathy, respect and selfdiscipline.

Before Obama leaves office I am asking him to ban corporal in punishment in all schools and make it a federal crime for teachers to hit students. The reason i'm asking for a ban because research said that even if a child was spanked they will more likely to commit violent crimes, more likely to have mental illnesses, more likely to develop antisocial behavior, and they are more likely to abuse drugs. I was spanked as a child but it still caused some problems like for example when I was a junior in high school a teacher made me mad and I almost started to beat her up and I was struggling to control my anger but the good news was that I did not beat her up. When I was a child I was told that its okay for my parents to spank me as along they don't bruise me but it only encouraged me to be violent towards others. The second reason i'm asking for a ban because it is illegal to do this in the military, to prisoners, and even strangers. If Obama bans corporal punishment it will reduce things like violent crimes, drug abuse, and mental illnesses and also if Obama does this it can help solve some of the gun problem we have in this country. If states let schools use corporal punishment the federal government should cut off financial aid for things like schools, roads, etc. There are cases that the students are hit so hard that they need to go to the emergency room and the teacher will not get in trouble and thats another reason I want corporal punishment banned. These are references that proves that corporal punishment is bad http://news.utexas.edu/2016/04/25/risks-of-harm-from-spanking-confirmed-by-researchers http://www.forbes.com/sites/tarahaelle/2016/04/28/spanking-harms-kids-doesnt-work-and-leads-to-long-term-problems/#21e710305fa9 Also there are much better alternatives to discipline a student than hitting them and states where children get hit the most they tend to have the most violent crimes, murder rates, and domestic violence. When Germany banned spanking viol

It is truly unconscionable that the US in the only western country that allows children to be beaten in school. We have laws protecting prisioners and animals, but not children?? How can the federal government allow this to continue despite all of the studies and documentation showing the harmful effects of this type abuse. If teachers and administrators can not control students without beating them, they should be removed from there positions as they are clearly not effective educators.

Often children with behavioral problems have witnessed or experience abuse. Now school is not even a safe space for children. The school officials that think paddling is an option should find another profession. They are causing emotional harm that will last a lifetime.

It is ridiculous that in 2016 we are allowing children to be hit by those who are supposed to protect them! Please make us a better nation by stopping this violence against children.

I should not have to hear my child say 'Mommy I'm scared to go to kindergarten' This is rediculous. You force parents to take their kids to school which at the same time is forcing them to put their child's rights and mental and physical health in jeopardy. Insane.
