Banning the Construction of Proposed Dog Park at Orem Community Park

The Orem Community Park is a multi-purpose park to be used by all of the community, and the area proposed for the dog park is already being fully used by families and community members for gatherings and recreation. Placing a dog park in this open play area would destroy much of what makes this community park usable for the highest number of people. This open area should be left open for community use, not destroyed to make space for dogs to roam leash free. This park is well-used in its current form, and needs to be preserved to maintain that level of enjoyment for all. If dogs need a dog park, find an under-used area and leave this park to the uses it already serves for family and community gatherings and recreation.

I play ultimate frisbee, soccer, touch football, and have many other family oriented activity there. I wouln't be able to do all of those awesome things if the dog park was put up.

I played a lot of neighborhood football and frisbee games on that field, it's the only place that isn't used by the community soccer teams that I've seen close to this neighborhoods. It's nice to have access to a large field all the time.

I dont think anyone on here understands that it would be a fenced area! No kids will be in "danger" from dogs. The reason some dogs are aggressive is becasue they are stuck in a house or backyard all day and never socialized. With a dog park your have the chance to socialize your dog so that they understand the world around them and that there is no reason to be on guard all the time! They also do not get any exercise on a 5 foot leash with some human walking at a snails pace. These animals need to run! they need to interact with other humans and other dogs! This makes for friendlier and better natured dogs. This might not be the "perfect place" but I dont think such a place exists. Anywhere that is proposed will have opposition. This is a great place because there is the larger field across the road where you can play football, soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, etc. We need to be a more inclusive community.

This is not a good location for a dog park. That area is used for multiple sports teams ranging from football, soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee games, baseball warm ups, etc etc..

Where else would we play Ultimate frisbee?! This park is already packed in the summer as it is.

I grew up here and it really does get packed already with the high school, Recreation center, tennis courts, playground and baseball fields. There are plenty of other places to put the dog park, but in such a crowded space is not the best spot! Not only will the unleashed dogs be a problem with all the families homes and children around, with so many cars all over the place I worry the dogs will be in danger of getting hurt if they run off. It could be a huge problem for the people eating at the pavilion with dogs running all over, kids at the park and people playing soccer or baseball across the street. I'm sure there are better places for this!

This location makes no sense. This location is heavily used by city residents. Taking it away for a minority of people is a mistake.

Definitely do not want a dog park so near to my home. My kids walk through that area of the park to get to other neighborhoods. We use that area constantly during good weather!
