The stories coming to light through the comments section reveal that this lack of legal protection affects far more families than I initially realized. I am currently compiling these experiences to present as evidence of a systemic failure within our current bankruptcy laws.

I cant even imagine the stress she is under. keeping my fingers crossed for the court date.
Marriage is a partnership. both people should be informed of debts. this is insanity.
This is completely wrong. How can someone be left in the dark about something that affects their own home and children like this. Change the law now.

TOTAL INJUSTICE. nobody should be able to hide something this big from their spouse. fix this system before more families lose everything they have worked for
