North Down Council have voted to spend half a million pounds in providing a gun club in the new Hamilton House Community Centre. The Council should not spend ratepayers money on a private gun club and it certainly should not be in the same building as a children's play group.
If you agree please sign the petition to persuade councillors to change their minds.
I have submitted a formal request for the full budgetary breakdown regarding the Hamilton House allocation. Council staff have acknowledged receipt of our correspondence and I am currently drafting a briefing document for the primary opposition members.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the head of the planning committee to discuss the use of public funds for this facility. I am currently drafting a letter to the Council outlining the safety risks associated with co-locating a private shooting range near a children's play area.

I think it is ridiculous that the council use taxpayers money on a private gun club, which offers nothing in return towards the betterment of the district.
