Bandelier Elementary start time and unpaid teachers

We need to be our children and teachers advocates. The start time of 7:30 is far too early. Class sizes need to be smaller. APS cannot continue to in this disfunctional reactionary non-communicative way any more.

I am concerned about my kids WALKING to school in the dark in the winter. People do not drive 30mph down Carlisle. Also, children cannot eat dinner and get to bed in order to get 12 hours of sleep before a 7:30 start time. My kids need sleep too!

My son already struggles with the times for school. NO ONE WANTS TO WORK FOR FREE. These teachers are a gift from god and are already underpaid to teach they deserve way more then they are given

Unless teachers are scheduled and paid to arrive BEFORE students and leave AFTER students, schools will be unable to provide a SAFE, stable, and smooth drop-off and pick-up procedure for families each day. Having the same hours for students and teachers is impractical and has obviously not been fully considered.
In order to coordinate our neighborhood buses, Elementary Schools (Bandelier, Monte Vista, Whittier) could start at 8 AM in order to give time for teachers to arrive at 7:30am. Our Middle Schools (Wilson, Jefferson) could begin at 8:30am, and High Schools (Highland) could begin at 9:15am, as planned, giving buses time to shuffle all kids to the necessary locations.

There must be a solution that does not ask these sacrifices of parents, kids, and teachers.

Our teachers are already giving so much to our kids. They should be paid every minute they are at school - especially during pick up and drop off. They are the ones making sure our children are safe

Please keep the 9:00 start time! Do not make it 7:30!
