I am a former resident of Louisiana and am appalled at the destruction that Corexit has cause to the Gulf region. Corexit and other similar dispersants must be banned.

Standing on the beach at Grand Isle, after the BP disaster, I was overcome by the fumes of oil and Corexit. My nausea and dizziness took nearly two days to clear. The ocean looked deceptively clear, but the toxins were over-powering. Corexit hides the problem for corporation, but not for the health of citizens.
Because the water appeared clear and the EPA and state posted no warning. Parents were allowing their children to swim in the ocean, where I filmed dead birds, dead seaweed, and dead fish just feet away.
Out-of-sight is not out-of-mind, when it comes to toxins.

As a Gulf Coast resident I know all too well what dispersant can do to an ecosystem. The Gulf of Mexico may NEVER be the same. Ban these toxic chemicals!

Wonder When Florida is Going get it that there was Oil And Corexit. Apalachicola got nailed an people got fired when they said they saw Oil. I have the Statement from Jack Rudloe and others that worked in Apalachicola and I was Swimming in the Stuff. I also have photos from Robyn Bailey who worked that Spill. Fishermen a Year Ago were Called Liars by the State of Florida.
"Although BP, EPA and the U.S. Coast Guard deny that Corexit (NALCO, 2005) was ever sprayed in the eastern Florida Panhandle (despite its widespread use in the BP oil spill: see Appendix), I personally experienced being sprayed with a toxic chemical while I was out collecting on the tide flats of Dickerson Bay in Wakulla County at night.
On May 18, 2011 a large propeller driven airplane flew low and slow over the coastal marshes of Dickerson Bay and suddenly the air reeked of chemicals. My respiration was affected, it was hard to breathe, I developed a sinus headache and experienced a terrible metallic taste in my mouth. Two commercial fishermen were out working and experienced the same sensation. The surface of the water was covered with a thin, particulate slick.
Over the next two weeks, fishermen observed other aircraft spring chemicals and GSML staff observed marine life began behaving strangely. Blue crabs were seen crawling out of the water and up onto the beach or floating on the surface, corroborated by the observations of crabbers, that blue crabs were weak and often died in the traps. Saltwater catfish swam in dizzying circles. Windrows of dead pinfish began washing into our dock with the tide. Sand eels were seen crawling out of their burrows, apparently gasping for oxygen and then dying."

Halliburtons corexit was used with full knowledge of it's toxicity after Deepwater Horizon.
Serious charges against those responsible should be Pursued vigourously.

Eventually not the rich, the companies that make these product will be able to escape from this chemical poisoning. You see, there are no boundaries to where or when you maybe exposed. It changes your way of life forwver.

Corexit-dispersed oil is 52 times more toxic that BP's spilled oil alone. Believe the science: Stop the use of dispersants the kill larval oyster, fish, shrimp, etc.
