Ban the use of glassware from premises which are licensed for the sale of alcoholto reduce the severity of alcohol-related violence and accidents. This will in turn make premises safer for pubic use, protect community safety and reduce the strain on public services.

The precise number of violent attacks involving glass each year is unknown, although the crime surveys suggest it may run into six figures.

Some estimates put the cost of glass-related violence to the NHS, police and courts at more than £100m a year.

It is illegal to walk around with a knife in your hand so why would we put instant weapons into the hands of extremely alcohol fuelled people ?

How much broken glass have you and your children walked on in the streets? Or trodden on in the toilets at restaurants?

PLEASE sign this petition and make our streets and communities much safer.

My brother got glassed in a club last year and it changed his life forever. Plastic cups are the only way to go.

Too many people getting scarred for life. just swap it for toughened plastic and be done with it.

My son had a glass thrown across the street directly into his face as he just arrived into Uttoxeter town for a night out. The attack was unprovoked and unexpected. He spent the night in a&e having glass removed and stitches sewn.
